This record book is the first of four used by Henry Robinson and his son Charles H. Robinson to document burials in their roles as sexton and later superintendent of Mount Moriah Cemetery. Early interments in this volume were documented by B.P. Smith, superintendent of cemeteries, and A.J. Austin, Henry Robinson's predecessor as sexton.
The first half of the notebook includes an alphabetical invoice of goods. The second half of the book records burials in Deadwood's Mount Moriah Cemetery and St. Ambrose Cemetery from April 9, 1881 to October 21, 1883. Burial records include the name of the deceased, date of burial, and general or specific location of grave.
The record book is handwritten in both pencil and pen. It has a black leather cover with a front flap.

Robinson served as superintendents of Mount Moriah Cemetery and as undertakers in Deadwood from the 1880s through the 1920s. The donor is related to the Robinson family.
