Description |
Gray enamel, combination range. Chrome trim and legs. On right side embossed with "Cribben & Sexton Company, Chicago, Universal Stoves and Ranges." Paper label on back "Cribben & Sexton Company, Chicago, 448-18, 484-18, 848-18, 884-18." Top of stove contains on warming oven and one broiling oven side by side, broiling rack and pan. Serviced with gas lines on stoves left side and back. "Universal: stamp on warming oven. OPen hole vents on door of broiling oven, both doors trimmed in chrome with chrome knob. Range cooking top consists of four jet gas burners on left half with open metal grill work. Right side has four solid cast iron removable burner plates, wood burning side. Chrome vent plate for stove pipe on back wall surface. On back on stove's left side, top, embossed "Simplex coal and gas #448-18." Middle back surface metal key-type rod with embossed instructions "Pull to bake." Metal lid lifter with "Ideal" embossed on side. On stove's let front, five white porcelain handles for gas jets oven area below range top. Stove's left side is "on off" handle for gas. Oven is in center, door has "Universal" stamped on front and a built in thermometer. Embossed above oven door "Patented Dec. 25, 1917." On stove's right front side are two chrome doors, top door opens from the top and bottom door opens from the side. Base has four chrome legs. Removable parts: a: Stove poker, metal with chrome wrapped handle. Located behind stove between stove pipe and back of stove. b: Metal lid lifter. Metal with chrome wrapped handle and embossed with "Ideal." Closed handle shape. 8.5" long. c: Metal rod on back range top in key slot for "Pull to bake." Metal with chrome with small oblong handle with hole in it. 7.75" long. d: Metal crank handle located inside warming oven. 11" long. Curved handle with triangular opening on one end, open work handle on other end. e: Gas jet located inside warming oven. 14" long. f: Round, thin metal piece. Solid with small square hole one side and small round hole on opposite side. Inside warming oven, 6.75" diameter. g: Round thin metal piece, hole in center with three depression. Inside warming oven. 7.25" diameter. h: Broiler rack, metal. L-shaped and fits into broiler pan. 14.25" long, 9.5" wide. i: Oven rack, metal rods. Located in main oven 16.5" by 17.5". j: Ashes drawer made of metal, rectangular pull out drawer with metal pull handle and metal rod carrying handle. 15.5" long, 6" wide, 6.5" deep. k1: Gas grill, cast iron open work grill. 17.5" long, 8.75" wide. Located on range top, on stove's left. "Simplex" embossed on underside. k2: Ga grill, cast iron openwork grill. 17.5" long, 8.75" wide. "Simplex" and "02778" embossed on underside. Located on range top, stove's right side of gas area. L1: Burner plate, stove's left front burner plate. Cast iron removable solid plate with depression. 8.25" diameter. Embossed on underside "Nov, GL 8, 179, 2920". L2: Burner plate on stove's left. Cast iron, removable solid plate with depression. Embossed on underside with "Nov, GL, 8, 2920, 17". 8.25" diameter. L3: Burner plate, cast iron with depression. 8.25" diameter. Embossed on underside with "Nov, GL, 8, 2920, 17". L4: Burner plate on stove's right front burner plate. Cast iron, removable three section plate: L4a - Center plate, 3.75 diameter, embossed on reverse with "3" and "8". L4b - middle plate, 5.75 diameter. L4c - outer plate, 8.25" diameter, on reverse is "Cosey," "BJS4," "8". m1: Front removable cast iron piece with holds the two front burners in place. Has depression for stove plate lifter. 9" long, 6.5" wide. m2: Left removable cast iron piece holds the two left burners in place. Has depression for stove lid lifter. 8.25" long, 6.5" wide. m3: Back removable cast iron piece, holds back two burners in place. Has a depression for stove lifter. 9" long, 6.5" wide. "Simplex" on underside. 9" long by 6.5 wide. m4: Right removable cast iron piece, holds two right burners in place. Depression for stove lid lifter. "Busy 8, 3340" on underside. 8.25" long by 6.5" wide. |
