From page 18 and 19 of Scrapbook, 1973-74, 1958 [2014.009.005] A brief two page typed history of St. Joseph Hospital in Deadwood conducted by Benedictine Sisters. At the upper right corner of the document is the following inscription:" Sr. Anselma." The document is surrounded by several newspaper clippings. A hand-written notation written above the pages in the scrapbook indicates: The following articles and pictures are placed in this scrapbook because they are in relation to St. Joseph's Hospital. The dates are missing - can anyone put a date to them?" |

The materials are owned by the Lead-Deadwood Hospital since the records creation. In 2023, the Lead-Deadwood Hospital agreed to allow Deadwood History, Inc. to scan some records to expand access to the materials to researchers. The Lead-Deadwood Hospital still owns the originals. Deadwood History, Inc. only has digital copies. |
Location of Originals |
Digital copies of scrapbooks and other materials can be accessed at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center. However, the original scrapbook is in the possession of the Lead-Deadwood Hospital. |
