High-resolution digital images of photographs are $20. Please inquire about pricing for copies of archival materials and printing fees with this order form.
To expedite the payment process of digital images, you may include your credit card information, including the type of card, your name as it appears on the card, expiration date, and the CCV number located on the back of the card. A member of staff will contact you to confirm the details of your request, and you will receive an invoice through email before your payment is processed.
Official program for Deadwood's fifth annual Days of '76 on August 8th, 9th, and 10th, 1928.
Inside front cover is an ad for three "first-run pictures" to be shown at the Deadwood Theatre: Hoot Gibson in "Riding for Fame," Tom Mix in "The Painted Post," and Ken Maynard in "Code of Scarlet." Also showing was "Black Hills, featuring many Western South Dakota people."
The first page lists the Executive Committee of the Days of '76, as well as the judges and other officials.
The second page is an ad for fights to be staged on August 9.
Pages 3 and 5 list the events, including rodeo events, military drills, races, a Sioux Indian war dance ("featuring many survivors of the Custer massacre"), riding exhibitions, and other contests.
Page 7 has an ad for the Republican party candidates in Lawrence County.
Pages 7, 10, 12, and 14 contain contest rules.
Spread throughout the rest of the program are ads for many local businesses. Page 8 has an ad for the upcoming Butte County Fair, August 29, 30, 31, in Nisland, South Dakota.
