Letter from Henry Robinson, Superintendent of Mount Moriah Cemetery, to the Board of Trustees of Mount Moriah Cememtery, dated January 24, 1898. The letter is written on "Office of / H. & C.H. Robinson / Undertakers and Embalmers / Sherman Street" stationery. Text of Letter: "To the Honorable Board of Trustees of / Mount Moriah Cemetery / Gentlemen / With regret / and with heavy thanks to this association / for the any courtesies shown me during / my connection with this association as / their superintendent I herewith request / them to accept my resignation as superintendent / of Mount Moriah Cemetery to take effect from / this date. I would kindly request that / your Honorable body appoint Chas. H. Robinson / to fill the vacancy caused by my resignation. / Very respectfully / Henry Robinson / Superintent of / Mt. Moriah Cemetery / Accepted H. B. Hardman / J. [illegible] / L. [illegible] / J.M. Rickel / B.P. Dague" On the reverse, written in pencil: "To E.D. Elliott / Gault Mo." |

Charles H. Robinson and Henry Robinson served as superintendents of Mount Moriah cemetery and as undertakers in Deadwood from the 1880s through the 1920s. The donor is related to the Robinson family. This accession is directly related to accession 2016.021. |
