The Franklin Hotel |
Date |
Summer 1903 |
Description |
Faded photograph of the newly constructed Franklin Hotel taken from the empty lot directly across the street. In the windows of the first floor are signs for the Columbus Consolidated Gold Mining Company and Nathan Halle's real estate, mine and stock broker business. To the left of the front door is a man standing near a wagon hitched to two horses. There is an umbrella over the driver's seat and on the side of the wagon are the words: "The Franklin", suggesting there was an early "limousine" service to the hotel. |
