Sharp Bits August 1956 Vol. 7 No. 7 pg. 3 "'Quiet on the Set' -- That's the first command given when 'shooting' and 'recording' occurs at the time. Here, in a 'borrowed' office our President, Donald H. McLaughlin, is filmed. He will be seen in both our new institutional movie, 'Deep Gold,' and safety training film, 'Accidents Don't Just Happen." An ore train plays an important part in both movies, and here the stage is being set for further filming. Sharp Bits August 1956 Vol. 7 No. 7 pg. 13 "The very bottom -- filmed from above was this operation of "mucking the pile" in the bottom of Winze No. 4. At the time this photo was taken, this spot was about 5,500 feet below the surface. Sharp Bits August 1956 Vol. 7 No. 7 pg. 20 "In the Yates Crushing Plant -- The feeder chains (each link weighs 90 pounds) and the giant gyratory crusher (which can crush a 30-inch piece of ore into 4-inch pieces) were quite difficult to film. Better luck was had at the Ross Crushing Plant. Nevertheless, cameraman Max Howe came up with some interesting shots in both plants which will be featured on our new movie "Deep Gold."
