Series of photographs of slushing and scraping. 303-1: Neil Sandidge operating an electric-powered slusher hoist and scrapper on the 2600 foot level, 1953. Sharp Bits April 1953, Vol. 4 No. 3 pg. 4 "Operating electric-powered slusher hoist and scraper. Shown operating the new, powerful electric-driven slusher hoist and scraper in Neil Sandidge. This slushing scene was taken in No's 32 and 33 cut-and-fill stope in No. 9 ledge on the 2600-foot level." 303-2: Wendeling Aberle operating a 20 h.p., 3-drum slusher in 35 cut & fill Stope No. 9 ledge on the 2600 ft. level. In foreground is 48" scraper which is hauling a load of ore into the ore pass shown between the slusher and the scraper. Grizzly bars are installed over the ore pass to cut down the size of the opening and limiting the size of the ore boulders that may be loaded from the chutes on the level below. One of these units complete as shown costs $4440.00.
