Series of photographs of Public Relations charts, graphs etc. 382-2: Graph titled "South Dakota Operations // Homestake Mining Co.", 1962. The x-axis is the years which are labeled "1941," "1950," and "1962 '63." The y-axis is "Millions of Dollars" from 0 to 20 million dollars. Other data is labeled as "gross income from gold bullion," "cost of producing gold bullion," and "earnings per share from gold bullion." 382-4: Chart titled "General Cross Section of the Mine." The chart identified the mill, Yates Shaft, Ross Shaft, No. 3 Shaft, Service Shaft, No. 4 Shaft, No. 6 Shaft, No. 7 Shaft, air exhausts, crushed ore bins, and surface to 8000 foot level of the mine. 382-4a: Chart shows the process "from solid rock... to pure gold." The chart includes the main ore body, crushers, underground storage, rod mills, ball mills, classifiers, sand treatment plants, sand back filling, thickeners, carbon-in-pulp plant, steelwool cathod, and the refinery as part of the process. 382-8: Two different charts on one sign. The one on the left is titled "Down to 8,000 feet..." and shows the Yates and Ross shaft and the general layout of the underground mine. The chart on the right is titled "Enhancing the Environment" and shows the Grizzly Gulch Tailings Disposal process. 382-8a: A chart that shows the process of refining mine through ball mills, rod mills, classifiers, sand plant, carbon plant, and refining to create 99.99% pure gold bars. |
