Bars and rods are colored on the ends to lessen the danger of accidents and to avoid costly errors in handling. Sharp Bits March 1954, Vol. 15 No. 2 pg. 12 "Custom sawing - That's right, stell angles, flats, and rounds are sawed to desired lengths by these power saws situated in the iron house and operated by Arthur Edlund (left) and Fred Ausmann. After they are sawed, the lengths are fabricated in the nearby blacksmith shop and machine shops.
