Description |
Black felt top hat with a tall crown that is rounded at the top, upturned brim. Beaded band around hat that is made of white beads with geometric designs in blue, red, yellow, and light blue. The band laces up at the back with raw hide ties. Pinned to the front of the hat is a silver colored metal badge with a pin at top that is in the shape of an eagle with raised wings. It is holding arrows in its talons. Below the eagle is a silver colored metal, circular pin that has a crown at the top, a laurel wreath outer border and a Maltese cross in the center. In the center of the cross is a circular border enameled in blue with silver text reading "QUEENSLAND / POLICE". There is a crown in the center that has red detailing. Pinned on the left is a badge made of red and black vertical striped ribbon that is gathered through a metal ring. Hanging from the ring is a gold colored metal medallion with a raised image of a Native American man on a horse. The man is wearing a feather headdress and holding a spear. Raised text above the man reads "INDIAN WARS". The back of the medallion has a raised image of an eagle and text reading "UNITED STATES ARMY / FOR / SERVICE". Piece of paper tucked into band around hat. Has blue handwriting on it. Attached to the right side of the hat is a yellow feather and a brown and white feather. There is a circular, blue, red, and white piece attached to the bottom of the feathers. It has a feather attached to the center. |
