Description |
Part A: Mask with an oval, clear plastic window at eye level. Black rubber around window. At bottom of mask is a plastic cylinder with two black rubber tubes attached on either side. The end of one is red and the other is white. Straps at back that all connect to a rubber piece that rests at the back of the head and has embossed with text reading "MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. / PITTSBURGH, PA. / FRONT STRAP / TO BE PULLED LAST". Green twill strap that attached to bottom portion of mask with metal rings. Black plastic cylinder embossed with text reading "U.S. PAT. 3,572,332". Front of the cylinder is etched with "HOMESTAKE". Silver metal ring above the cylinder and has text reading "MSA". Rubber above window is also marked with "MSA". Part B: Insert to help mask keep its shape. Made of brown and red pressed board. Roughly egg-shaped and concave. |
