Description |
Square shaped piece of white leather or lamb skin. Backed with tan cotton fabric that is stitched to the leather around the outer edge with tan thread. Triangular flap of white leather sewn to top edge. Bottom edge of triangle is unfinished, top edge is finished with twill tape.Two twill ties. Written on the apron in black ink under the flap are names and dates. Many are illegible. Some of the legible text in the center of the apron reads "AC Schopp Dorn Iowa / E.P. Oct 28th 1907 / F.C. Nov 7th 1907 / M.M. Nov 16th 1907 / Proven A.M.M. Nov 18th 1907 / The first M.M. made / by Rock River Lodge 599 - Iowa / J F Barnet W. M. J. T. Bradshaw S.W. / S.D. Warren J.W. / Sr. S[illegible] year 1909 / S.W. year 1910 / W.M. year 1911-12 / Grand Commandery So Dak / E[illegible] G C of Y. Sept 1st 1927 / [illegible] Aug 1929 / [illegible] 1929." Text on the right reads "Commandery Nov 1921 / S.K.W 1922 / S.K.C. Y 1923 / C[illegible] 1924 / P[illegible] Examination for / [illegible] 1925 G.C.[illegible] WY 1926 / [rest is illegible]." Writing on the left side of apron and on flap, but very difficult to read. |
