Description |
Metal, portable Hotpoint brand electric heater. Consists of a base, the heating element, and an electrical cord. The base is painted blue and has "Hotpoint" in raised letters. On underside is stamped "CAT NO 119A58/ 1000 V.115 / PATENTS: 1255814/ 1245084 1368108 / MADE IN U.S.A. BY / EDISON / GENERAL ELECTRIC / APPLIANCE COMPANY INC. / CHICAGO, ILL. ONTARIO, CALIF." Encircling text are six tabs extending from other side of base and bent so as to attach heating element to base. Heating element consists of a concave metal "dish," a copper colored protection grid, and the heating element itself, which is approx. 3.5" L. It flares out from dish and is wrapped in a metal coil. At the base is a circular ceramic piece. On the back side of "dish" is the electrical cord, encased in a thick, woven cotton fiber. On the back of the "dish" is also a handle and a tag attached to the handle via string. The tag is octagonal shaped and on the front reads "Finished / In / Hotpoint / Chromeplate / Easily Cleaned - Always New / Lustrous Practical / Lasting Durable / Beautiful." Backside of tag describes cleaning procedure of "Chromeplate," which is on the inside portion of the "dish." |
