Description |
Brown leather rectangular solid shape. Top has a leather flap with three straps, one of which is missing, spaced evenly on the front edge for closure matching with three steel buckles, Two of which are missing. Top embossed with tooling designs of diamond shapes and rectangles. Border around central diamond shapes have a oval floral pattern. Sides also have embossed patterns with the ends have a ring of dotted triangles around edges and the front and backs having triangular embossed shapes. Top lid has a rectangular white label reading, "1806". The back has a leather handle with a rectangular paper label attached which reads, "From / Mrs. L.E. Seowraua? 1806 / Mrs. Leroy B. Edgerton / Spearfish / So Dak". Sides of case also have black letters reading, "S.E. Junr.". Top inside lid has a blue and white vertical striped fabric cover with a center slit. Top inside has a second leather cover with five slots along front edge which align with six U shaped loops extending up from underside. Inside under second flap lined with a brown and white floral line pattern fabric. Leather straps and handle. Blue & white pillow-ticking under lid and brown & white fabric in case. Inner cover folds over body and has slots that fit over metal loops. Outer lid is rounded and held to body w/ straps. "S.E. Junr" on sides. |
