Description |
Cardboard box, lid is AHC.1998.0229a and box bottom is AHC.1998.0229b. Rectangular, heavy, tan cardboard covered in brown paper. Lid has a label on it printed on the left with a coat of arms in orange, yellow, white and black. Below that is text in white reads "C.D. PEACOCK / ESTABLISHED 1837 / STATE AND MONROE / CHICAGO". The other side is printed with text reading "Mrs. W. E. Adams, / 32 Van Buren Street, / Deadwood, So Dakota." The label has red stamps on it reading "Fragile" and "Return Receipt Demanded, Prepaid," numbers handwritten in pencil, "693030," and a postal stamp. Bottom of box has a blue wax seal and postal cancellations dated 1931. Two metal tabs attached to center of edge of long side of box. |
