Series of photographs of Lead. 483-1: Series of football player portraits for the "Golden Star football team Champions Black Hills Season of 1902". The players are identified as Norton, Moody, Williams, Kurz, Hanson, Johnson, Morrison, Holvey, Smead, Tower, and Scholey. The photograph was taken by Curtis. Sharp Bits May 1966 Vol. 17 No. 4. pg. 16 "The first football game played in this area was on November 24, 1897, between Deadwood and Ft. Meade. Deadwood, 18-0. Lead has had its share of championship teams, too, as evidence by the photo above." 483-2: Series of nine photographs featuring the "Winners of Golden Star Olympic Tournament Season 1901. The images in the top left and bottom right corner is a banner for the Golden Star Tournament. The images in the lower left and top right comer is a set of billiard cues and pool balls. The five images in the center are portraits of men identified at the top left and going clockwise are Chas Evans, H.J. Barker, Bert Klunk, Dr. JR. JH. Wade, and [illegible]. 483-3: A image of an eagle with a small banner in its beak that reads "Lead Aerie No. 246 F.O.E." 483-4: A photograph of a certificate from the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lead Lodge No. 747 for a tribute for the deceased Walter E. Sharp Bits October 1965 Vol. 16 No. 9. "Drilling the holes for the sewer-line sand-backfill project was contracted by Lawrence Materi of Upton, Wyo. Three holes, five inches in diameter were put down by this drill rig.
