Matted bird's-eye view of the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad (B&M) trestle at the top of Spearfish Canyon with a view of the railroad bed 7 miles away and 800 feet lower. The caption reads: "Spearfish Canyon from Trestle Work: 7 Mile Bend to Gain 800 Feet. Black Hills, S.D. B&M R'y. / Scenic Views on the Northwestern Railway. / Cross Photographer Hot Springs, S.D." The B&M trestles were dynamited in the 1930s when the train stopped running through the canyon. |
